Oseh Ma’aseh v’Reishit

Nothing focuses the mind on the vastness and mysteriousness of God quite like the sights of the natural world.

Most of the time, I live the belief that all of this came — in one way or another — from the creative will of a single, divine Being.

The times when I’m not so sure of that, I keep living as if I do believe in oseh ma’aseh v’reishit, the Creator of creation in the beginning, if only to hold on to a sense of awe and reverence.
